striving for my BSN
Tuesday, March 03, 2009
I am finishing up my pre-requisites in Tacoma Washington right now and will
transfer to either University of Nevada Reno or to the University of Nevada
Reno by fall 2009, with my Associates in Pre -Nursing Transfer degree. Once
I obtain my BSN I plan to work for a year or so with my mother in one of the
ER’s in Reno. After I get the experience I need, I plan to become a
traveling nurse. I think it would be a great experience and well-rounding.
Eventually I plan to go back to school to become an anesthesiologist or a
nurse anesthetist. I would love to minor in Spanish, however, after
aimlessly studying for the past five years, I feel I need to concentrate on
Nursing and obtaining my degree. If one day I do become fluent in spanish, I
would enjoy traveling to Spanish speaking countries to put my healthcare
skills to use across the world.
I feel that I am a qualified candidate for the scholarship because I have
dedicated myself to obtaining a nursing degree for the past few years. Im
sure you know it is not an easy fight. I am a determined young woman who has
her mind sent on what she wants. I have been working in the hospital for the
past two years as a CNA in the Same Day Surgery unit. While there, I have
learned a lot about the aspects of nursing and I have felt the feeling you
get when you have made a difference in someones life. That is a feeling I
enjoy and wish to continue to feel through out my career.
